State Service Commissioner Institute
Begins at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 13 and ends at 5:00 pm on Monday, September 14
Designed for commissioners who serve on state service commissions.
Purpose of the Institute:
To explore possible roles and strategies to more actively engage Commissioners in extending the reach of state service commissions and their roles in supporting volunteerism and AmeriCorps in every state.
New Program Start Up Institute
Begins at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 14 and ends at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15
Designed for AmeriCorps National new program grantees.
Purpose of the Institute:
Provide the tools and resources to launch high-quality AmeriCorps programs.
Fulfilling Training Responsibilities & Opportunities
Begins at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 14 and ends at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15
Designed for AmeriCorps State and National Grantee staff involved in fulfilling training responsibilities.
Purpose of the meeting:
Provide the tools to build high quality, integrated training programs.
New Executive Directors' Orientation
Begins at 1:00 pm and ends at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15
Designed for Executive Directors of state service commissions who have been appointed within the last nine months.
Purpose of the orientation:
Provide an orientation to the field of national service, state service commissions and the role of the executive director.
AmeriCorps Grantee Meeting
Begins at 8:30 am on Wednesday, September 16 and ends at Noon on Friday, September 18
Designed for commission executive directors, commission staff, national grantee leadership and national grantee program directors.
Purpose of the meeting:
To gain an understanding of CNCS priorities; identify strategies for effective implementation of the newly authorized Serve America Act; enhance skills required for effective implementation; and strengthen relationships with colleagues.
Go online to view the dates, goals, agendas and audiences for each meeting. The registration fee for each attendee is $200. This covers participation in all the week’s activities or in any portion of the activities.
