RE: Additional Clarification for Recovery Act Reporting on Federalreporting.gov
This memo provides additional guidance regarding reporting requirements for the 1512 report Recovery Act grantees must submit to the OMB website at Federalreporting.gov.
Consolidated Statewide Reporting. We have learned that several states are requiring all state agencies to submit their Recovery reports to a central reporting office to be consolidated and submitted together to Federalreporting.gov. Please make sure your state recognizes that the Corporation has provided additional guidance which is specific to your AmeriCorps grant requirements. OMB recognizes that its generic reporting instructions may not fit all federal grants and encourages federal agencies to customize the reporting instructions as needed. Many agencies have provided specific instructions for their grantees. When reporting on AmeriCorps Recovery grants, please use the specific language we have provided.
Reporting Job Retention. Some states are questioning what may appear to be a large number of jobs retained with minimal Recovery Act funding. This is not unusual for AmeriCorps Recovery grants. Small amounts of additional funding are making it possible for programs to retain members who would have lost their AmeriCorps positions otherwise. Please let your state reporting officials know that the Corporation does not want those numbers converted into FTEs. They are AmeriCorps member positions and the funds allow members to complete their terms of service.
CFDA Data Validation Problem. Federalreporting.gov has fixed its programming error that was preventing the system from validating some CFDA numbers, including 94.006. If you are submitting your report via the Excel spreadsheet option, you will need to download the latest version of the spreadsheet to ensure that the validations recognize 94.006.
