The VISTA documentary “A Year Towards Tomorrow” won the 1967 Academy Award for best documentary short subject. Arriving at the Academy Award ceremony is the VISTA group, consisting of Janice Pink, Ed Levy, Frances Humphrey Howard, Curtis Fuller, and Diana Michaelis (not pictured). As the first director of the Office of Economic Opportunity, Michaelis supervised the production of the documentary; Pink and Fuller were the two child “stars” of the Atlanta sequence in the film. |
