Duke’s Fuqua School of Business values a partnership with the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award as it provides help to students in advancing their postsecondary educational goals, while at the same time exposing other MBA students and the community at large to the knowledge, perspectives, and experiences that the volunteers gained during their AmeriCorps service.
Beginning in August 2010, The Fuqua School of Business will offer up to five AmeriCorps Education Awards (in the form of merit-based scholarships) to qualified AmeriCorps students in recognition of academic potential, involvement in community activities, and leadership. This award matches on a yearly basis, the AmeriCorps funds the students request from AmeriCorps (currently $4,725 per year of the MBA program). Students must be admitted to the Daytime Program at the Fuqua School of Business through the regular admission process.
Grants, scholarships, additional fellowships, teaching assistantships, research assistantships, stipends, and other forms of financial aid are all viable options for Segal AmericCorps Education Award recipients to supplement their award package.
