The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of LA plans to provide tutorial services for tribal children after-school to help increase academic, social and behavioral skills. This goal will be accomplished by employing a Louisiana State Certified teacher to manage the services and provide the instructions along with a qualified assistant. Services will be available for students three days per week. Networking with and providing a satellite office for Sylvan Learning Center will also provide more extensive learning oppotunities for children who are considered educationally or behaviorally at-risk. Free parenting programs for families and data tracking of all participants will be provided in addition to the tutoring services. This is to ensure the needs of the family can be met holistic in approach.
