Team Leader
Age: 21
Hometown: Tucson, Arizona
College: Pima Community College,
Northern Arizona University
Why did I join AmeriCorps? I
joined AmeriCorps*NCCC Class 12 Northeast
region last year to see the states, do good
things, and become a stronger person. When I
finished my first year I had explored a new
coast, made a few great differences, and
gained a stronger physique, but I realized I
still lacked the mental strength I was
striving for. I am a good person who has
done good things, but I didn’t believe it. I
signed up to be a team leader for Winter
Class 13 in Sacramento, CA so that I could
appreciate not just the beauty around me,
but the beauty in me. I came here to face
the last of my fears so I can put my best
self forward. What do I want from
AmeriCorps? Confidence. To fear nothing,
but fear itself.
An interesting fact about myself:
I’ve given a lion a bath and shared a cookie
with a polar bear. Favorite Quote:
“To be successful in this world you either
have to be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.
For years I was smart; I recommend pleasant
and you can quote me on that.”
