Last night the House filed a comprehensive appropriations package to provide Fiscal Year 2008 funding for programs and agencies across the Federal government.

This “omnibus” or consolidated spending bill is in the form of an amendment to H.R. 2764, the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act of 2008. The House is expected to take up the bill tonight, and the Senate will act later this week.

The bill, which includes a 1.747 percent across-the-board rescission, recommends $856,331,000 million for the Corporation and its programs for Fiscal 2008. Senior Corps: $213,785,000

  • RSVP $58,642,000
  • Foster Grandparent $108,999,000
  • Senior Companion $46,144,000

AmeriCorps VISTA $93,800,000

AmeriCorps Grants $256,805,000

National Service Trust $122,539,000

AmeriCorps  NCCC $23,782,000

State Commission Administrative Grants $11,790,000

Learn and Serve America $37,459,000

Partnership Grants 0

Innovation, Demonstration, and Assistance Activities $18,893,000

Evaluation $3,891,000

Salaries & Expenses $67,759,000

Inspector General $5,828,000

Total: $856,331,000
