Garry Miller has been volunteering with our AmeriCorps Senior RSVP program for two years, now as a Veterans Coffeehouse Volunteer, Shopper and Visitor.
Garry is our go-to volunteer who is always willing to help anyone. We can always count on him to go the extra mile for his clients. At the coffeehouse he shows up early to make the coffee and greet the veterans. Garry is retired from the Navy (22 years). He also shops for two elderly women who just adore him, one he takes with him to pick up her groceries and do errands with her; the other women who is homebound and can count on him every week to deliver the food she needs.
Garry also spends time each weekend with a disabled gentleman going to movies, walks in the park, and just being his friend.
