MLK Day of Service
Monday, Jan. 18, 2021
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is an official day of service that celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. AmeriCorps has been charged with leading this effort for the past quarter century.

Mentorship is as the center of AmeriCorps service, bringing people together to improve lives and strengthen communities.
National Mentoring Month is an annual campaign that aims to recruit volunteer mentors to help America’s youth achieve their full potential.
