Boston University, Wheelock College of Education & Human Development is pleased to provide 100% dollar-for-dollar matching awards for up to 15 new graduated students each year. AmeriCorps alumni will also remain eligible for all other relevant scholarship and financial aid opportunities at the school. Applicants should identify themselves as AmeriCorps alumni on the application for admission and follow the instructions on the application in order to receive an application fee waiver. For the best chance of receiving the matching award, applicants should apply by the school's recommended deadlines.

We would like applicants to be aware of the following:

  • You must be a newly admitted graduate student to qualify for this award.
    • You must take advantage of this scholarship opportunity within your first year as an admitted student to any Master’s or CAGS programs offered at WCEHD.
      • This award is not applicable to students who do not identify as first year students.
    • This is award is not applicable to PhD or EdD programs.
  • You must be enrolled as a full-time student to be eligible. (12-18 credit hours) 
  • WCEHD will match up to one award, per student.
    • We are unable to match more than one award, per student, at this time.
  • Your enrollment status must be full time and the majority of the credit hours that a student plans to attempt must have the prefix of SED
    • EX: If you are enrolled in 12 credit hours or more, and at least 8 credit hours have the prefix of SED, you are eligible.
    • EX: If you are enrolled in 16 credit hours or more, and at least 12 credit hours have the prefix of SED, you are eligible.
    • EX: If you are enrolled in 12 credit hours or more, and only 4 credit hours have the prefix of SED, you are not eligible.
    • EX: If you are enrolled in 16 credit hours or more, and only 4 credit hours have the prefix of SED, you are not eligible.
