Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, in partnership with AmeriCorps, awards AmeriCorps members a scholarship through the Heinz College - AmeriCorps Scholarship Program. Through this scholarship program, AmeriCorps VISTA members are awarded a minimum scholarship of $12,000 per semester. AmeriCorps State and National members and AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) members are eligible for a scholarship award up to $7,000 per semester, commensurate of the terms of service with the AmeriCorps program.

Heinz College awards the scholarship to former AmeriCorps members who are entering one of the college's full-time graduate degree programs. The award will be made at the time of admission (no separate application is necessary). To be considered for the scholarship, Heinz College applicants should indicate their involvement with AmeriCorps on the application for admission.

The Heinz College - AmeriCorps Scholarship Program has been established as part of Heinz College's commitment to promoting innovative decision-making and diverse perspectives in leadership in education policy-making, similar to the mission of AmeriCorps.
