The Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University knows that addressing the world’s environmental problems will require a legion of extraordinarily bright, committed, well-trained and educated professional environmental managers, deployed to strategic locations around the world and working on the ground with communities, governments, and corporations.

The Nicholas School has been adding to that legion for decades through its professional masters program which awards Masters of Environmental Management and Masters of Forestry degrees. AmeriCorps alumni admitted into the MEM, MF, and DEL-MEM programs are eligible for a minimum merit aid package of $5,000-10,000 per academic year dependent upon their total length of service (for up to four semesters; students in concurrent degree programs should contact the financial aid manager to determine how their financial aid will be adjusted). All applicants will also receive full consideration for additional merit-based tuition assistance based on the strength of their application, as well as need-based aid (as available). Minimum merit aid packages are:

  • 6-9 months: $5,000
  • 10-12 months: $7,500
  • More than 12 months: $10,000
