In memory of the September 11 attacks, AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP of Central Arkansas and Future Builders Inc. honored 174 volunteer firefighters at eight locations in the four counties we service in Arkansas. We have 28 paid fire stations, and most of the firefighters in our state are volunteers. These volunteers do more than fight fires. AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP appreciates their service to our communities. We presented a commemorative plaque to each fire chief that stated, "We Don't Stop When We Are Tired...We Stop When We Are Done." We made these plaques county-specific and claimed them as our heroes. We let them know that we at AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP of Central Arkansas value their volunteer service.
