National Days of Service
Two National Days of Service inspire thousands of individuals and organizations across the country to make volunteering part of their lives.
September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance
September 11th is Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance. On this day Americans across the country are called to volunteer in their local communities in tribute to the individuals lost and injured in the attacks, first responders, and the many who have risen in service to defend freedom.
Martin Luther King, Jr., National Day of Service
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a defining moment each year when Americans step up to take action to create the Beloved Community of Dr. King’s dream. MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service, and AmeriCorps has led this effort for the past quarter century.
Join with us as we celebrate the impact of our programs and offer our thanks to each and every one for volunteering to serve others.

Join AmeriCorps, America’s Service Commissions, and Service Year Alliance for an AmeriCorps alumni networking event celebrating AmeriCorps’ 30th anniversary and AmeriCorps Week. Hear from a panel of AmeriCorps alums and AmeriCorps Senior volunteers who served throughout three decades of AmeriCorps. Then, join a breakout room with alumni in your region or who share your career field to meet fellow alumni and broaden your personal and professional network. Capacity for this event is limited and will be first come, first serve.
|National Volunteer Week
During National Volunteer Week, AmeriCorps shines a light on the enduring contributions of volunteers and encourages all Americans to discover their own power to make a difference.

On Veterans Day, we honor those who have served and those who continue to serve our country. Each year, AmeriCorps engages thousands of veterans in service and assist more than 500,000 veterans and military families. Our programs and members are committed to this mission and thank those who have served.
