I'm a faith-based organization. Am I eligible to apply for an AmeriCorps or AmeriCorps Seniors grant?

Yes, faith-based and community organizations are eligible to apply for AmeriCorps or AmeriCorps Seniors resources.

What kind of organizations can sponsor an AmeriCorps NCCC team?

Nonprofits, faith-based organizations, local municipalities or city government, state government, federal government, Native American or Alaskan Tribes, National or State Parks, Forests, or other public lands, and schools

What is the role of an AmeriCorps NCCC sponsor?

Organizations that sponsor an AmeriCorps NCCC team want to respond to a need in their community.  Sponsors provide a meaningful experience for AmeriCorps members during the 3 to 13 weeks they serve with your organization.

What do AmeriCorps NCCC sponsors need to provide?

Technical oversight and direction on site with the team each day At least 40 hours of enriching service per week, per member Project supplies, equipment, materials, and any necessary building permits Schedule of work & Training plan Lodging with showers (Eg: Churches, community centers, dorms, campsites, cabins, etc.) Cooking facilities (unless meals are provided) Service-learning support and opportunities to understand community impact Inclement-weather work plan More information can be found here.

What kind of funding/resources does AmeriCorps offer?

AmeriCorps is a federal agency that funds organizations to make positive impact in communities. To support the placement of AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers in communities, we provide more than $800 million in financial and human resources grants every year. These grants provide resources and people power in the form of members and volunteers for organizations across the country. Find out more about how it works.

What is the grant application process like?

The application process depends on what resources you apply for. Most of the applications for AmeriCorps resources are completed through eGrants. For organizations interested in sponsoring an AmeriCorps NCCC team, contact the regional campus  that covers your state.

How do I submit a grant application?

Most of the funding opportuntiies will ask that you submit an application through eGrants. eGrants is an online system designed to automate the entire grants and project management process from application to closeout. You find funding opportunities, apply for grants or projects, and manage grant reporting online.
